Gang Violence is fashionable

Check out the Justice video. Forget the random violence, the jackets are brutal.

Now watch the clip from the Warriors. The waistcoats are fabulous, aren't they?
What does this tell us about gangs, kids? Yes Arthur, that's right, you do look cooler if you're in one.

The problem with Justice's uncomfortably real gang is that they are just so moody, where's the fizzing dialogue? They definitely wouldn't stretch to "I'll shove that bat up your ass and turn you into a popsicle".

Fictional gangbanging looks a riot; vaselined pectoral muscles and flowing locks, that's how men fight. Hell, it makes you think London's gangs could do with a new stylist; fuck the hoodie, why not an Apache headdress?

Stress, the Justice song, is a difficult tune, one of my least favourites. But listen to the Warriors video, lots of the soundtrack has eery pre-echoes (if that's a word) to Justice's sound. Maybe Gaspard and Xavier shake off the hipster late at night and turn into "Electric Assault". Maybe...

I had a Thursday morning epiphany. I'm definitely having "gangs from the Warriors" as my 21st theme. Dibs, ladies and gentlemen, have been called. You sneer, but Thursday mornings are slow on epiphanies.

Please watch the Warriors. Not on Youtube. It makes you want to be in a gang. Yeah, I said it.
